    This auction is for a very scarce microscope slide prepared by J. D. Cox in 1880 using California & Nevada minerals exhibited at the 1876 Centennial Exhibition.  Wikipedia has a long entry about Jacob Dolson Cox (Microscopy paragraph at the bottom) who also served as a Civil War General, Ohio Governor, Secretary of the Interior, and the University of Cincinnati president.   The slide is neatly prepared and labeled, and the condition is Excellent.  Please look at all the photos and ask any questions.  See my other auctions - combine shipping and save.
