Rare 1876 Centennial WOVEN SILK Adv Pacific Mills Lawrence MA THREADS OF HISTORY
This auction is for a very scarce woven silk advertising textile from the 1876 Centennial Exhibition in Philadelphia.  The woven silk scene pictures the Pacific Mills factory in Lawrence, Massachusetts, Eagles with the date 1876, and text listing their Agent in Boston.  This textile is pictured on page 192 (textile 393) in the classic book
Threads of History
(Smithsonian Institution Press, 1979). The dimensions are  24” wide x 29 ½”.  The overall condition is VF with light wear, a stain at the bottom left, and a few small scattered spots.  Please look at all the photos and ask any questions.  See my other auctions - combine shipping and save.
