Rare Terracotta Corner Block, Salvaged 1885 Italianate Estate Brick Stone 12"x8"
This beautiful terracotta corner block was salvaged from a circa 1885 Italianate style house in Ohio. The block was originally used in a 140° corner of a bay window. It stands 12" x 8.5" with a 6" oak leaf rosette and a beveled plane.
Details: The face of this block is formed of 2 not coplanar surfaces; an 8" square face with rosette, and a 4 ½" x 8" rectangular face at an angle. Between the two planes, a ½" wide bead runs through the groove created by the bevels.
Brick tone is classic, stone color with subtle red accent tones.
Condition: Very good salvaged condition. Some surface scuffs, scrapes and chips as expected with age and use. Some mortar residue may be present on sides of bricks. Each brick is slightly unique regarding the level of red accent.
History: The bricks were salvaged from a circa 1885 Italianate style house in Barnesville, Ohio. The job was featured on Season 10, Episode 5, of the DIY Network show, "Salvage Dawgs".
