Uncut Pair * 1876 Centennial  FLAGS OF ALL NATIONS Patriotic Cotton Handkerchief * AS IS
This auction is for a very scarce uncut pair of cotton handkerchiefs from the 1876 Centennial Exhibition in Philadelphia.  This handkerchief is pictured on page 210 (textile 448) in the classic book
Threads of History
(Smithsonian Institution Press, 1979). Each kerchief has dimensions 24 ½” wide x 17 ¼” high and features a border that is absent in the Threads of History illustration.  The overall condition is only Good due to a tear on the left margin with some fabric loss, a stain on the left side that affects the margin & 3 flags, fading, and uniform age tone darkening.  Please look at all the photos and ask any questions.  See my other auctions - combine shipping and save.
